Outdoor Items We Love

Okay lets be honest for most families going camping means spending time outdoors. Here are some items that we just love for outdoor time at the campground.

Outdoor Cooking Grill

What is better than a london broil or chicken over a campfire? Well to us when camping nothing. Check out this campfire grill. If it doesn't fit the normal way we flip it upside down. Makes it easy to remove with a large stick or metal pole.

We have been using this just shy of a year. It easily cooks dinner for seven. We use the heat from the fire and a wire brush after to clean it. As I stated before if we cant fit it over the fire ring we flip it upside down and have the legs in the air for use.

Outdoor Chairs

Okay, so when your camping you spend quite a bit of time outside. We originally just had the standard fold up chairs. However, someone gifted us the Rocker Chairs and they are life changing.

We both have back problems and I love how I can rock back and forth and get comfortable.

I love sitting at a campfire with this bad boy. I feel like I am kicked back and relaxing. I also occasionally steal my son's chair once he is in bed to give me a footrest to really kick back and relax.

Outdoor Chair for Toddlers/Babies

We started camping with our son when he was 3 months old. When we started we obviously did not need a chair, however by the time he was 5 months old it was time to get him his own chair.

We found the Baby Delight Go with me Chair. It is absolutely great for quite a few years of use. We started using it when our son started sitting up on his own. When we first started using it, the chair was a highchair/outdoor chair in one for us.

Now days at just shy of three years old it is just his camping chair. He always wants to pull out his chair and we are glad he has his own special chair when camping.

Outdoor HeatResistant Metal Table

Okay lets be honest when you get to cooking outside the camper you start putting hot plates just about anywhere especially if the kids are running around. Enter this heat resistant compact table to help you out.

This table is pretty awesome because it folds up into itself and is about 3.5" tall when collapsed.

We have a full size pass through storage so for us this fits nicely underneath all of our must haves when we get to the campground. The fact that you can cook on this and place a hot plate without melting the table makes this a must have for camping. On our unit we have an outdoor kitchen and we place this right beside so we can extend our cooking space. It also becomes our outdoor bar.

Outdoor Picnic Table Cover

So this item is for the basic people out there like me. Our son is super picky about sitting down at a damp bench. Additionally our toddler is a massive mess maker when he has ketchup. These covers allow me to quickly clean up after a meal and wipe down in the morning to avoid the dewy seats.

These stretch nicely over most picnic tables. So far we have only had one oversized table that it was not a good fit. We were still able to make it work. Only recommendation is that when your packing up to go home you set them in the sun the felt backing does get damp. We have had ours for a year and they still look new.

Outdoor Mat

I highly recommend getting an outdoor mat. We opted to get two smaller ones and have them both. It only creates a slight tripping hazard but we plan accordingly.

We chose to used two of these so that if needed we do not require having both of us to help roll them up. Our Spirit 2454BH has a large enough pass through that we are able to roll these and store them in the front pass through storage. The trick baby bungee cords.

Outdoor Side Tables

So we use our outdoor side tables like nothing else! I absolutely love these things and to be honest if we had room to store like 6 of these I would.

We sit just about everything on these. From outdoor fans, bug zappers, books, adult beverages, and much more. They are easy to clean and easy to wipe down.

Our toddler also loves these as he can move them around and create his own little area to play and color.

Canopy

We honestly travel with a canopy. It is transported to the campground in the back of the truck. Ours is a 12x12.

We place this over the picnic table and the breakfast cooking area. While we do not have the Blackstone brand we do have something similar that works better for us. I am not sure if we would replace with the Blackstone or something more similar to what we have.

Cooktop

Our cooktop consists of a 3 burner propane burner. We use it for cooking potatoes and dinner to a griddle top for breakfast.

These two together make for some mad camp side cooking. I also should be honest that I love to cook so this set up gives me plenty of flexibility to cook just about anything at the campground.

Grill

We use the older version of this grill that is no longer available. What we love about this grill is how little space it takes up in the back of the truck.

We can also attest that the Coleman Grill is easy to clean. We have cleaned ours multiple times at the campground and at home. This is our hotdog and burger cooker when we do not feel like cooking over a campfire.

Outdoor Splurge Chairs

Okay so these are from our old tent camping days. When we would have the SUV or Truck backed directly up to our site. Now days it requires specific sites to be able to make these work but I absolutely love these silly hammock chairs. Some people tie them in a tree but I am way to short and my husband would rather just hook up the hitch adapter.

You will need either two chairs or a hammock. While this item is definitely a splurge we have had ours 4 years and everything is still in great shape.

That is all we have right now for outdoor items. I will add more as we decide what we need in 2021.

Message us or send us your outdoor must haves we always enjoy learning what others prefer.
