Camping Storage

MomsThoughts null

Okay we all know storage is key, and lets be honest everyone has some spot on their camper where they go WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!! For us in our 2020 Spirit 2454BH it is under the sink. Two tiny doors one huge storage space, kitchen sink pipes and the frustration that goes with.

In this shorter blog I will share our favorites for storage in our camper.

The Outdoor Stuff

Okay this list is long we have surge protectors, electrical cords, cable cords, water hoses, water filters, hose elbows, water pressure regulators, sewage line, sewage hose, sewer hose support (sidewinder), leveling blocks, x chocks, and then the outdoor rugs, chairs, side tables and outdoor cooking table. WOW its alot!! This is truly where our Spirit 2454BH shines the large passthrough storage holds all of this for us plus fishing poles, 4x4's and our weight distribution system when not in use. The good news it all fits, the second news is how in the world to store it to grab it all quickly at the campsite.

Totes

We use some totes like these. Ours came from Lowes but my husband really wanted latch style and stacking. The ones on the right are the size we use for our Fresh Water (Hose, Elbow, Regulator, and Filter) and Sewer (Line, elbows, gloves, and hose) both are labeled so we know what we are grabbing. We also have our Andersen Levelers and xtend x chocks in one and our folding tables, and outdoor lights in another. We have four in total.

For our electrical and cable components we use a 8 gallon taller box. Here is the link to the one at Lowe's.

Again this will be dependent on the gear you buy. For a gear list check out our next blog.

Inside the Camper

Master Bedroom

Okay these 3 draw system from Sterilite were our previous night stands when we used to tent camp but they worked out perfectly for our camper's master bedroom. The 2020 Spirit 2454BH has two small closets on each side of the bed. These units slide in-between the latch to create a "dresser" like storage system for our bedroom. I personally use the top for shirts and bathing suits, the middle for shorts/pants and undergarments, and the bottom for bathroom supplies I don't keep in the camper and a sweatshirt. (We personally choose to bring these home every trip so that we can pre-pack them and slide them in when we pull the camper out.)

Kitchen

Okay you heard me say that the kitchen storage for our camper is horribly designed for our L shape sink/counter.

I got two of the small stackable baskets. The bottom one I store large trash bags for outside and the small trash bags for indoors. On the top basket I store all my kitchen cleaning supplies, magic eraser, Mrs. Meyer's cleaning supplies, rags, and Clorox wipes.

For our pantry I use two medium containers and I need to get two large containers but have not purchased yet.

We also have a small Sterilite Trash Can under the sink. This is for the quick cleaning when I am prepping in the inside before cooking in our outdoor kitchen.

Bathroom

I found it extremely important to have a small trash can in the bathroom. Lets be honest the purchase was driven by a situation where I didn't have one and needed one. Keep it under 2 gallons so it does not take up too much space. I buy 3 gallon trash bags so I can use the same in the bathroom and kitchen.

And finally a shower caddy that I store the wonderful sewer treatments, shampoo, conditioner, face wash and the cheap toy boats for our toddler. This keeps everything in place and allows us to quickly grab it out if needed. I was lucky and found a colored one but simple is all you need.

Portable Storage

Okay I just found these and they are now my favorite for bringing food to the camper. They are also amazing for your Aldi or Lidl trips. I found mine on the clearance rack of Lidl so I was super pumped but this is amazing because you can bring everything in then collapse this down so that you take up little space. They also work great to take items to the pool since you can break it down when not in use. We also use them to move drinks from under the dinette to the outdoor fridge.

So that is the end of our current storage list. I am currently looking for the best storage idea for our dinette storage as well as for our bunks. I will share as I find the best solution.
