Bath house: 5/5

Playground: 5/5

Fishing: 3/5

Pool: 5/5

Sites: 4.5/5

Extras: 5/5

Roads

The roads for the most part are paved and very nice. Note that their is alot of uphill tows. We stayed on the plateau and the road was very tight. The other areas seem to have slightly larger roads and that is where we saw the majority of 5th wheels. Roads are also not very clearly marked and it can definitely get confusing. Clearly someone had a horrible night and ended up in the lake when we were there. Thankfully everyone was okay.

Bathhouse

I used two different bathhouses while visiting. The one across from the pool and the one behind the store/tavern. Both were incredibly nice. The one behind the tavern was starting to struggle to keep up with the pool crowd but overall they did a really great job for the amount of people using them. I was quite impressed.

Playground

The playground was the playground of dreams for most kids. Our son actually rode his balance bike .6 miles from our site to the playground. I was along for the walk/run to keep up with him on the hills. It consists of a small area for younger kids, swings, an area for older children, Gaga ball, bounce pad and pillow. Fun for kids of all ages and he loved it!

Fishing

There is a pond and you can fish but we never even had a nibble. We were fishing with small lures, corn and hotdogs. I never actually saw a fish caught. However we did see what appeared to be a incredibly nice carp go swimming by.

Pool

There is a pool, hot tub and water park/splash pad here and wow are they amazing.

One note about the pool and splash pad is that you can rent cabanas for the day. We opted to do one for the second day at the pool because the adults were exhausted but the toddler was still going. They include furniture, fan and TV. Most also include a mini fridge. We would definitely pay to rent again.

Sites

Sites the critical questions everyone always has. Here at Golden Valley it appears to be about how much money you want to spend and how close you want to be to everything. We were on the Plateau which meant that it was quiet. It was also some of the cheaper sites. The tow up the mountain was one I wouldn't want to stop with our rig just because momentum would not have been on our side. The downside of these sites is we only barely saw Yogi or any staff it was like it was completely separate from the festivities.

Extras

As far as extras this place you get what you pay for. I highly recommend bikes or a golf cart because you can cover some serious distances going different places in here.

The craft area to the pool to the playground all require traveling sometimes over .5 miles.

You can play mini golf for free and go to the lake. However, the campground has other things not included in cost. These inlcude the kayaks, paddle boats, laser tag and gem mining. You will need to make the decision on what is worth the additional fees.

You can rent golf carts and hot tubs here as well as other add ons that are present during online booking.

This gigantic place is great for kids but definitely requires a little more financial planning. A long weekend can easily set you back over $500 dollars.
